Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar is a renowned shariah advisor, founder of a few startups and a prolific author. He was Chairman of Shariah Board at Central Bank of Malaysia and Securities Commission of Malaysia. He is Chairman of shariah committee at First Abu Dhabi Bank, Madina Insurance in Oman, Salama Insurance in the UAE and Permodalan Nasional Berhad in Malaysia. He sits on the shariah committee of a few Islamic financial institutions in Asia, Middle East and Europe.
Dr Mohd Daud is Chairman of a few organisations including Bio-Angle Vacs Sdn Bhd, BerryPay Sdn Bhd and Amanie Group Sdn Bhd. He has authored 42 books including Shariah Minds in Islamic Finance: An Inside Story of a Shariah Scholar and Maqasid al-Shariah: The Face and Voice of Shariah. He has received numerous awards and the recent one is Royal Award for Islamic Finance 2022, which was awarded by the King of Malaysia.
